´´ I didn´t go to the Louvre. You can´t even take a picture of the Mona Lisa! What´s the point?´´, says the Fat American.

What's the point?! If you can't see the beauty of the Louvre beyond the line-up for the Mona Lisa...then you do not truly enjoy art...or history.
I personally enjoy the Louvre more for the history than for the art.
Save an attraction, shoot a tourist.
What is beauty? Describe this thing that I should see when looking at the Mona Lisa.
When is art no longer art, but just a mere artefact that signifies historical meaning?
When asking 'What is the point?' I am not supposing that there is NO point. I am just trying to grasp what is one of, or all of, the reasons we prize the experience of canonical art.
Great site lots of usefull infomation here.
